Techno-opera (live-performance)

is a long term project created by Angelle Khachik, Ina Vietha and Kiyoshi Yamamoto. Together they worked on creating this piece, which was premiered  as for the first time at “Gestures & Nods #2: Performance, Drag, and Pedagogy”, September 2025, as the closing act of a 3 day festival program.

The work is a response to the contemporary destruction of queer and transgender rights and reflects the eternal struggle to restore and build queer gathering points and places. The dramaturgy is based on a sacrificial ritual and mixes elements from electronic and classical music, poetry and dreams. With Yamamoto’s colorful costumes, we weave together harmonies, dreams, poetry and improvisations both live and sampled from works with a digital delay processor. The audience is invited to actively participate in the ritual.
